Lockwood ES8100 Assa Abloy Es8100 V-Lock, Pto/Ptl, 11.4-28VDC, Fully Monitored
The ASSA ABLOY ES8100 V-Lock is a high-performance motorised locking solution designed for access control applications where door misalignment, side load and reliable monitoring are important. Designed and assembled in Australia, the ES8100 is the redesigned successor to the Lockwood/Trimec ES8000 V-Lock and incorporates significant improvements in strength, monitoring, environmental protection and installation flexibility.
The ES8100 uses a high-torque motorised bolt that engages into a V-shaped strike plate. As the bolt engages, the design assists in pulling the door into alignment, making the lock particularly suitable for doors subject to movement or misalignment. It accommodates up to 12mm total door misalignment (+/-6mm) and provides a holding force of up to 1000kg.
The lock can unlock under a preload of up to 100kg when configured in 3-wire mode, making it well suited to applications where pressure may be present against the door before unlocking. Integrated door position and lock status monitoring allow the ES8100 to interface effectively with access control and security systems, while the onboard LED provides visual lock status and diagnostic information.
The ES8100 can be configured onsite for Fail Safe (Power to Lock) or Fail Secure (Power to Open) operation. It can be installed vertically or horizontally and may be mortice mounted for a concealed installation or surface mounted using an optional mounting kit. The lock must not be installed in the floor.
The lock body and faceplate retain the original ES8000 footprint, allowing the ES8100 to be used as a direct retrofit for existing ES8000 installations. Its IP53-rated weather-resistant construction also makes it suitable for appropriately configured external door applications.
